Funeral for a Friend are a post-hardcore band hailing from Bridgend, Wales. After forming in 2001, they began writing, recording, and perform as much as they could, until they put out their debut album ‘Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation’ in 2003 - hitting #12 in the UK Albums chart.
Fast forward to 2012 and the band have unleashed five studio albums, and are waiting on the 2013 release of their sixth, ‘Conduits’. Returning to their more hardcore, punk influenced sound of their debut album, the band will be hoping to emulate the success of their 2007 album ‘Tales Don’t Tell Themselves’, which hit #3 in the charts. Catch them on UK tour in January 2013.

Funeral For A Friend release new single ‘Nails’ on 8th April via Distiller Records. As vocalist Matthew Davies-Kreye explains, it’s a song about “stepping up to your responsibilities and accepting the situation you find yourself in. And working hard to make it better.” It’s the latest track to be released from the band’s recent sixth album, ‘Conduit’, which scored a Top 40 spot in the album charts.
Welsh post-hardcore outfit Funeral for a Friend’s full circle revival has been completed with the release of their sixth studio album ‘Conduit’. In the past the Welsh rockers haven’t been renowned for their consistency with numerous line-up changes and their previous release history having varied wildly since their much lauded and highly praised debut album ‘Casually Dressed & Deep in Conversation’ back in 2003. ‘Conduit’ however further strengthens the foundations that the band’s last two releases built and shows a positive trajectory that fans will have been hoping to see since the early releases that the band had to offer.
Seminal Welsh rock band Funeral For A Friend will release sixth album ‘Conduit’ through Distiller Records on 28th January, today they have put out a sneak preview of each track on YouTube, as well as releasing a full stream of album track ‘Nails’.
Funeral For A Friend’s follow-up single to 2011’s critically acclaimed 'Welcome Home Armageddon', an album which saw the band approach their music with a new sense of forceful application after the addition of new members, 'Best Friends And Hospital Beds' is set for release by Distiller Records early next week.
