The Scissor Sisters are an American glam-rock outfit spawned in 2001. Fronted by Ana Matronic and Jake Shears (making them one of the only big bands lead by both a male and female), the band have worked their way from performing in underground New York clubs to huge venues, festivals and arenas across the world.
Since their club days, they've released three studio albums – all of which have hit either #1 or #2 in the UK charts upon release – and will be touring their fourth, 'Magic Hour', throughout the year. Don't miss you chance to catch the eccentric stars live – they have a hell of a live show and loads of new material!

On 9th July 2012, myself and seven lucky bloggers from Europe and the US had the amazing opportunity to attend one of the most sensational live music events I have ever experienced.
Hot on the heels of the release of single ‘Baby Come Home’, Scissor Sisters have released an instructional video to accompany fan favourite 'Let's Have a Kiki'. Self-directed and filmed at the 'Kiki Institute of Mental Instability', the video was initially premiered on www.letshaveakiki.com, the band's Kiki-themed Tumblr page. The site was created by the band as a centralized destination for all of the amazing Kiki-related videos, photos and tributes that have risen out of the 'Let's Have a Kiki' phenomenon.
As London makes its final preparations for the Olympics, Scissor Sisters will be headlining the Americas stage at the BT River of Music event this Saturday, July 21st, in the historic and suitably dramatic setting of the Tower of London. Next week will also see the release of new single ‘Baby Come Home’, taken from their latest album ‘Magic Hour’ which is out now.
As part of the London 2012 Festival, Scissor Sisters will headline the Americas stage at BT River of Music, a weekend celebration with free concerts along the banks of the river Thames with musical talent from Olympic and Paralympic countries around the world, and their entire performance will be streamed live and free for the world to enjoy from the Tower of London at 8.00pm (GMT) on July 21st from on digital arts channel The Space. For those who aren’t able to catch the Scissor Sisters on July 21st the entire performance, together with films of much of the rest of the weekend’s concerts, will be available on demand for free on The Space.
Just imagine this. An electrifying New York venue. An intimate audience. The Scissor Sisters performing live on stage. The Black XS “Excessive Sessions” bring you this unique rock’n’roll opportunity, while also giving you the chance to see it live in a brand new competition.
