Last Updated: 13 Jun 2016 12:36pm
Black Sabbath a heavy metal band from Birmingham, England, consisting of frontman Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler.

Formed in 1968, the band released their debut self-titled album in 1970, which hit #8 in the UK Albums Chart, followed by ‘Paranoid’, the same year, and performed even better in the charts, reaching the top spot. ‘Master of Reality’ came out in 1971.

The band released eight albums with Ozzy Osborne in their early career, before he left the band in 1979. He was replaced by Ronnie James Dio, who recorded two albums with the band. Ian Gillan then stepped into the frontman role, but he only featured on ‘Born Again’ in 1983.

By the release of ‘Seventh Star’, Tony Iommi was the only founding member left and they went on to release a further six albums before Geezer Butler and Ozzy Osborne returned and the band released the band’s last and nineteenth, ‘13’.

In September 2015 Black Sabbath announced international dates for their last tour, 'The End'. The band have promised that the show will "surpass all previous tours with their most mesmerizing production ever" and have said "when this tour concludes, it will truly be the end. The end of one of most legendary bands in Rock ’n Roll history".

The tour sees the band go to the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, getting underway in Omaha, Nebraska on January 20 2016, and running right through until spring, when they end the trip in Dunedin. The band headlined Download Festival in 2016.

There's now a set of European dates and festivals in the summer, before another tour of North America, where they'll play their final US shows.

Fianlly, Black Sabbath reach UK and Ireland shows to complete The End tour in early 2017. These are their last ever shows, with the final gig taking place in their home town, Birmingham. Catch them live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
