Caliban are a German metalcore band from Hattingen, consisting of vocalist of Andy Dörner, guitarist and vocalist Denis Schmidt, guitar player Marc Görtz, bassist Marco Schaller and drummer Patrick Grün.
Founded in 1997, under the name Never Again and the band signed to Lifeforce Records, releasing their debut self titled EP a year later. The band released their debut album, ‘ A Small Boy and a Grey Heaven’, in 1999, which was followed by ‘Vent’ in 2001 and ‘Shadow Hearts’ in 2002. The band later signed to Roadrunner Records and released, ‘The Opposite from Within’ in 2004, ‘The Undying Darkness’ in 2006, and ‘The Awakening’ in 2007. The band signed to Century Media in 2009 and released ‘Say Hello to Tragedy’, followed by ‘I Am Nemesis’, in 2012 and ‘Ghost Empire’ in 2014. The band’s latest album, ‘Gravity’, came out in March 2016. The band have headlined their own shows and tours across the USA, Europe and the UK, and have supported Morning Again, Earth Crisis and Cro-Mags, as well as embarking on a co-headline tour with Suicide Silence 2018 sees the Caliban headline London's Tufnell Park Dome in December.
