Its been very quiet here lately (I think- I havent been around for the past ten days) and we all have been around for quite a while. 5, 6 years?

So. in an attempt to liven things up a bit and check what everyone has been up to- update a bit about whats going on with you! why you've been away etc.

Newbies, should they come, can introduce themselves too, but in lack of, its really about getting the regulars back around.

I'll start, shortly. I have moved to an appartment in Tel Aviv, so living the big city life, sort of. I'm still working for a software company but going to leave in October, and start uni. I gave in to choosing something, even though I'm not 100% sure and only because it sounds interesting, because everyone -except my parents- said what I study in uni doesnt necessarily have to be what I do "in life".

And I just landed home after a vacation in Northern Italy with family. pictures to follow sometime.

Now you!

Well, Nogs, i can't let your thread have only one post, so i shall reply also .... besides i'm waiting for my dinner to cook so this will help pass the time too!!

Err, i moved from birmingham to cardiff and been to uni and have done three years of training to be a childrens nurse and i'm just waiting to see if i have passed (find out on the 5th september). I was living in a shared house but for the last 2 months been staying in the nurses accomodation on the hospital site, however i spend pretty much all of my time at my boyfriends house. Been with him for 7 months and will be moving in temporarily at the end of this month just until i get settled and have a job and some money!!

That's really the extent of my life for the last 3 years, combined with many hangovers, embarrassing situations and too many days spent drinking tea instead of going to lectures! God i'm gonna miss uni!!

good luck with the results, Manda!

and Noga, that's exciting! what did you choose??

I'm just finishing uni, after a long long time (stupid regulations in Germany). there's another exam in September for which I'm studying now and then I'm done. now I've been sending out applications, but it's really hard to find a job Confused and I've already realised that I'm not going to find what I want to do the most Rolling Eyes so, hopefully I'll find some job soon and then I'll probably have to move and get a life. Laughing

whats really cool is that, reading mand's post, I was thinking I remember those events happening! Its cool to think we've been part of people's life for quite a long time now!

goodluck manda And cathrin!
what job are you looking for?

I'm going to study *takes deep breath*: "Biology and Psychology concentrating on Neuro-Science."
I think is the translation.
its like.. neurobiology and psychology. Although I'm very much the scientific-mathmatics person, I did not want to touch computer science at all (mom wasnt pleased) and even though I DONT plan on being a psychologist, brain stuff is somewhat interesting. atleast in the expanding-horizons sort of way. Plus, I get to analyze my friends, woot!

oh wow, that sounds great! difficult too though Laughing I hope you'll like it. and there'll surely be something else to do with it when you're finished?

I'm going to work in publishing. to me the most interesting part would be the foreign rights sales department, but those jobs are very rare Confused so I'm looking for anything else now

nice to hear from you again, Nogs Very Happy

"tea and uni"... my goodness, that triggered a wave of nostalgia in me. our dorm room was the one where all the guests knew they'd be offered tea. there are moments when i miss those times a lot, right now is one of them.

cath, you know what you want to do in the long run Wink

do i still have to do an update if i've been more or less active here?

very well then.

i moved to a flat on my own almost two years ago. i work at home as a film/tv translator and about 88% of the time i love my job. there have even been moments when i can't wait to get to work, i am not kidding you. just hoping it lasts Laughing
i'm also a proud aunt of one nephew and two nieces, aged 6, 3 and 1, they seem to be quite fond of me as well. probably because i'm (almost) always willing to play with them and push them on the swing and read to them and all that.
and i recently spent 10 days in ireland, driving around and in dublin. now i can't wait to go back.

also... will there ever be another meet-up? i'd love to go Cool

ermm.. although I don't have much to say..!

I'm still an -unemployed- uni student.. Confused living in Cordoba with my sister, and a friend (the friend/housemate always change.. currently is an old school mate)

I'm not graduating any time sooner, but well.. I try hard. I want to be a good translator :mr green: I'm gonna study French too, next year.. we'll see how that goes Smile

and well.. I'm looking for a part time job too.. Confused but my uni schedule is so irregular that I had no luck.

Right I love talking about me so prepare for an essay!

Well I moved from a small town nr wales to birmingham to Weston-super-mare to Hereford and back to the small town in the space of 7 years lol!

All the time working for the local government, I’m about to start a new job in a different council earning some better money!! it’s an hour drive every day! But I will be RICS qualified finally so all good!

Me and my fella have moved in together after being on and off for the last 7 years! Mostly off but we are finally ready to settle down after many things kept us apart, mostly his kids! But they’re old enough to understand now! Well they should be but we still get a lot of grief!
We have a lovely little flat and we just spent 7 grand updating all our furniture so I’m chuffed!
I cant believe im excited about furniture haha, I feel so old! I still manage to go out and get wrecked pretty often and I still like going to gigs, luckily we have a similar taste in music!

Oh im up for a meet sometime if people wanna!

i get excited about furniture too! and re-decorating.... and looking at property websites.... and watcing property programs....*joins the sad old club*

erm, i work for dc thomsons which are a big publishing company (newspapers, magazines, beano, dandy, etc) in the payroll dept. i'm solely responsible for about 600 people getting the pay every week and i get peanuts for it which sucks! i'm looking at maybe trying to be a dental nurse but i have to actually get my ass in gear to do that..
still living in scumdee though i did have a brief fling living in ayr! i've been living with my boyfriend for the last 9 months and hoping to buy our own wee place one day. i have a gorgeous one year old nephew courtesy of my boyfriends little sister who has made me so unbroody Laughing
i still spend too much money on gigs and that band called stereophonics!
i think the most exciting thing in my life right now is that i've grown my hair long again, gee i'm interesting! Rolling Eyes

Haha, this looks fun!

I'm another who's finished uni. Thats now about 20 years non-stop education, I'm glad its over. Focused on a music project really, quite enjoying getting to play gigs in loads of different places.

Thats about it, nothing much to it but I'm enjoying things as they are.
