The Wombats Tickets & Intimate UK Tour Dates Revealed

Renowned as one of Britain's most exciting live bands, The Wombats are poised to storm back to the live arena with an intimate run of dates which will represent their first full UK tour since November 2008.

The shows will follow the September 27th release of their new single 'Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)' that recently received its world premiere on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show. Their eagerly anticipated second album, title to be confirmed, will be released towards the end of the year.

Already confirmed as one of the major attractions on Australia's touring festival Parklife that runs from September 25th to October 4th, The Wombats' UK tour offers a rare chance to see the band up-close and personal. The tour includes a London date at Heaven and culminates with a special homecoming show at Liverpool's Static Galleries.

22nd - Hereford, Jailhouse
24th - Nottingham, Rescue Rooms

The Wombats are about to return to Los Angeles to complete work on their second album with producer Rich Costey (Muse, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand) having already collaborated on the project with Jacknife Lee (U2, Snow Patrol, R.E.M.) and Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Lostprophets). The immediately infectious punky hooks that characterised their debut album are firmly in place, but this time around the band have been eager to experiment with more leftfield ideas and a darker lyrical approach.

Released in 2007, the band's debut album 'The Wombats Proudly Present. A Guide To Love, Loss and Desperation' spawned two Top 20 hits in the shape of 'Moving To New York' and 'Let's Dance To Joy Division. On the road, The Wombats completed two huge sold-out UK tours which included triumphant shows at Brixton Academy, a prestigious one-off headline show at London's Royal Albert Hall and a massive hometown show at the 10,000 capacity Liverpool Echo Arena. They were nominated for Best UK Act at the MTV Europe Awards, and played a plethora of enormous festival appearances including a co-headline set on the NME/Radio 1 stage at Reading and Leeds as well as storming sets at Glastonbury, T in the Park, Isle of Wight and Oxegen.
