The Sword Cancel European Tour Due To Illness

The Sword have announced the cancellation of their upcoming European tour on medical advice.

One of the foundations of the metal revival of the past ten years, Austin TX's The Sword have released two flawless slabs of vintage heaviness on Kemado Records, toured the world with Metallica, and were honoured to grace the past three editions of Guitar Hero. This summer, the band released 'Warp Riders', their third full-length and their most ambitious effort to date. The LP is the band's first concept album and is fittingly grand in scope both lyrically and in terms of musical craftsmanship.

The Texans were due to kick off their European jaunt in Germany on November 5th concluding in Belfast on December 12th, with a full UK tour inbetween. All shows have now been cancelled, due to an injury to the band's drummer Trivett Wingo, according to a statement issued by the band.

The statement read:

"It is with deep regret that The Sword has to cancel their forthcoming tour of Europe. Due to medical reasons, the band’s drummer, Trivett Wingo has been advised by his doctor to not fly internationally. We are all wishing Trivett a speedy recovery and hope to reschedule the tour soon."
