Kassidy - Oh My God (Single Review)

Kassidy - Oh My God (Single Review)

This quartet are causing quite a stir around Glasgow with their folky guitars and vocal harmonies. Yes, Mumford & Sons do spring to mind, but it is Take That or The Kooks that reverberate from this poppy single.

The chorus is clearly meant to be the main draw here with its grandiose blasphemy and rhythmic refrain. With Kassidy, everything sounds meticulous. The four-way guitar throng, the vocal ‘harmonies’ and of course, the major to minor transition that enables the track to sound that little bit more sentimental.

Unfortunately, despite the interesting set-up and grounded ethos Kassidy seem to have, 'Oh My God' is boring as peas. Yes, there’s no autotune in sight, but there’s also no variation to the affair, and it ultimately comes across as yet another bland, irritating tune that could send Simon Cowell’s minions flocking.
