Owl City Confirms Album Details For ‘All Things Bright And Beautiful’

Monday, 21 February 2011 Written by James Conlon

Adam Young, the synth-led indie darling better known as Owl City, has announced details for the follow-up to his hit 2009 release ‘Ocean Eyes’. Young will release ‘All Things Bright And Beautiful’ on may 24th. The record will be his second release since signing to record giants Universal Republic.

Meanwhile, Young has been fuelling tabloid speculation by recording a special declaration of love for pop star Taylor Swift. The singer is said to have met Swift last year, which provoked the female singer to record a track called ‘Enchanted’ on her latest album, ‘Speak Now’. The song’s lyrics are said to be concerned with the pair’s first meeting, with Swift even capitalising the letters A-D-A-M in the album’s accompanying lyric booklet.

However, last week Young took it upon himself to record his own reply for Swift. In a Valentine’s Day post on the Owl City website, Young uploaded his own cover of ‘Enchanted’, writing: "I'll be the first to admit I'm a rather shy boy and since music is the most eloquent form of communication I can muster, I decided to record something for you - a sort of a 'reply' to the breathtaking song on your current record."

He continued: "You are a true princess from a dreamy fairy tale, and above all, I just want you to know...I was enchanted to meet you too."
