La Roux Deny Kanye West Collaboration

La Roux singer Elly Jackson has denied rumours that Kanye West will be featuring on the duo’s second LP. The pair have seen been part of the wave of British artists recognised in America over the past few months, gaining a hoard of famous fans and earning a collaboration with Dr. Dre, among others.

The electronic duo also featured on Kanye West’s ‘All of the Lights’, but confirmed this week that the rapper will not be returning the favour on their sophomore album. Speaking to the Daily Star, Elly Jackson said: "There'll be no Kanye or any other type of collab-oration on our records. It would make our records sound a bit unfocused. I still feel like we're starting out as artists. La Roux and hip-hop don't really mix, not on our albums anyway."

Speaking about the group’s new sound, Jackson continued: "I'm about to go on holiday to clear my head before writing the new record. It will always sound like La Roux, if a little more mature. There's no way anyone's going to hear it and think, 'God, who's that?'"

She also went on to assert that the duo have been influenced by “rare disco” during the early writing stages of their second LP. She said: "I really love the rare disco scene. I've been collecting tunes from around the world, unknown but massive, uplifting songs with real emotion."
