Lady Gaga has revealed her insecurities in a personal documentary filmed over the course of the last year. Speaking in an unusually frank interview, the eccentric singer described the pressure which she feels as a performing artist, and stated that she felt like a “loser kid” during her time at high school.
However, Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) showed resilience in the US interview, as she said: "I cannot be destroyed and I will not be destroyed. And you will never destroy the kingdom that is my fans. I just have to pick my shit up. Pick myself up and tell myself I’m a superstar every morning just so I can get through this day."
She continued: "I'm fighting for every kid that's like me, that felt like I felt and feels like I still feel. It hurts when I know how much authenticity and how much genuine blood is in my spirit and how much I feel like people don't know that... 'cause they see wigs and lipstick and they shut down, 'cause they don't understand."
Gaga went on to announce that she looks to keep strong for the legions of followers which hang on to her every move. "I just want to be a queen for them and sometimes I don't feel like one. It's not about being a winner for me anymore. It's about being a winner for all of them."
Meanwhile, Gaga is set to perform her latest single, ‘Judas’ on the Ellen Degeneres show this Thursday (April 28th). The video for the track is set to be released in the near future, but has already received criticism from religious groups for its supposedly sacrilegious content.
