Global Live Events Reply to Letter From Michael's Estate

A letter has surfaced where Global Live Events have responded to a letter from Michael Jackson’s Estate asking the promoting company to address theirs and the fan’s concerns about the controversial Michael Forever tribute concert.

The show, due to go ahead on October 8th (despite rumours of a cancellation), had been under a constant barrage of attacks from livid fans as well as outraged friends and family members since its announcement late July. Among the angered was Howard Weitzman, a lawyer for the Estate of Michael Jackson – which owns the rights to MJ’s name, image and intellectual property – who decided to write an open letter to Global Live Events on August 15th.

Now, you can read a response to the letter written by GLE’s Chief Executive Chris Hunt, written on August 17th, below.

Weitzman and the Estate were particularly displeased at the company’s poor handling of the line-up, which was billed to be “the biggest and the best concert event in the world for many years to come”, the expensive tickets and their ticket policies, the confusing charity donation scheme and of course the addition of KISS to the concert's lineup.

But, as resolute as ever, Hunt and the rest of GLE remained confident about their concert and even suggested that they meet up in person should the Estate need to discuss any of their ‘plans’ further.

Hunt wrote that they “hope and pray” that they’ll put on a concert so spectacular that members of the audience remember it for the rest of their lives – but how do you think they’ll fare? Will they put on a spectacular, or will the show be a massive let down? Will the show even go ahead? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
