Will.I.Am Denies Rumours That The Black Eyed Peas Will Split

According to reports in the Mirror today, The Black Eyed Peas are on the brink of a split – just one day after they pulled out of the Michael Forever tribute concert. But, comments from Will.i.am himself posted on Twitter today suggest that the group are going as strong as ever.

The ‘Boom Boom Pow’ singers were due to perform at the concert on Saturday, and were one of the main crowd attractions lined-up for the gig in the Millennium Stadium. But, after pulling out, an anonymous source told newspaper The Daily Mirror that the band would be parting ways, suggesting that the potential break-up was the reason for the Peas cancelling their set at Michael Forever – which chiefs described as ‘unavoidable’.

"Pulling out of this weekend’s gig is the final curtain call for them – especially as they’re all such huge Jacko fans," the unknown source told The Daily Mirror. It continued, "Things have been taking a turn for the worse over the past few months but this signals the end."

The story got tongues rolling and fans began to question Peas members on why they wanted to split – only for Will.i.am to rubbish the claims and tweet a message confirming that the band will NOT be calling it a day.

“Why do people listen to rumors..."Me and @apl_de created the peas"...so...from the creators mouth...We are not breaking up...stop the rumors.”

So, we’ve been asking the same question that Will.i.am. apparently has – where is all the speculation coming from? Critics of the Cardiff concert think that the rumours appear to originate from the organisers of the Michael Forever tribute to discredit the band, after pulling out for what is believed to be contractual issues.

So what do you think of the rumours? Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
