American rock icons Motley Crüe announced their new residency at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas on Piers Morgan’s Tonight show last Thursday, making them the first ever rock band to hold down a residency.
The legends will be performing almost every night at the Casino for 16 days, going from February 3rd to February 19th. The band will be pulling out the stops for the shows too, with drummer Tommy Lee getting himself a 360˚ swivelling drum kit.
Frontman Vince Neil was immensely excited for the run of shows, and told Piers Morgan: “We’re the first hard rock band to ever have a residency. We’re all about theatre and over-the-top stage shows so it’s a perfect fit for us.”
The band continued in a statement “It is a dream come true for me especially living in and loving Las Vegas. I don’t know about you, but when I think of Motley Crue, I think of filthy sex, drugs, a REALLY big show and way too much fun … sounds like Las Vegas doesn’t it? A match made in heaven!!!”
Fans are eagerly awaiting the shows and will be fighting to get their hands on tickets for some of the shows. The Hard Rock Hotel, which is owned by same company as the casino, are offering room packages for travelling rockers and tickets for the gigs are already on sale.
