David’s Lyre Celebrates Advent with Lana Del Rey and Florence Covers

Monday, 05 December 2011 Written by Rob Sleigh

David’s Lyre – aka London-based solo artist Paul Dixon – has launched an Advent calendar of new music videos through his Facebook page to celebrate this month’s festive season. As per tradition, Dixon kicked off Advent on 1st December with a cover of Lana Del Rey’s recent Top 10 single ‘Video Games’ – watch the video below, featuring “real-life superhero” Knight Warrior.

David’s Lyre continued the seasonal theme today with his own version of Florence and the Machine’s forthcoming release ‘No Light, No Light’. The singer-songwriter has teamed up with students from London’s Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design to create the new videos and animations. The entire collection of songs will be released as a free download on Christmas Eve through Bandcamp.

David’s Lyre released the EP ‘In Arms’ earlier this year, which was followed by a tour with Chapel Club, as well as some of his own headlining dates. It was recently announced that he will be supporting Spector on their upcoming February tour – see below for dates.
