Dub Phizix's 'Marka' Test Presses Sell Out In 11 Minutes

Dub Phizix and Skeptical’s absolutely storming new bass-heavy track ‘Marka’, which features the harsh vocals of Broke-N-£nglish’s Strategy, managed to sell out of test press copies in just ELEVEN minutes last night, making it one of the most hyped about tracks to emerge from the underground music scene ever.

The single, which hits shelves on December 19th through dBridge’s Exit Records, is a dark and tribal monster of a track, with face-shaking sub-bass levels, a crisp rim-shot snare and vocals with serious flow. Maybe that’s what makes this track so addictive – I’ve admittedly played this about 100 times just today – and why this is one of biggest bass music releases in a long time.

Rolling at around 170bpm, this beast defines has a genre of its own – the tempo of drum and bass, the tribal rhythmic beat of dubstep and some of the aggression and lyrical content of some of today’s grime. Whatever you’re into though, ‘Marka’ will leave you nodding your head and pulling the gully-est of warfaces. Pressed on the B-side of the track is ‘Rags’, a more minimal track in the same style as ‘Marka’.

The track has definitely got hype – it’s received over 16,000 views since being uploaded yesterday to Dub Phizix’s YouTube channel (and 1,000 more since I started writing this article!), with test presses selling out in extreme fashion. It’s also been shared around Facebook like wildfire, spammed around forums and rinsed out in clubs across the land – and all before the tune’s even hit release. So it’s no surprise there’s already Facebook groups to get this tune to CHRISTMAS #1. As unlikely as it is, it would be brilliant to have a Christmas chart topper with ‘marijuana’ in the opening line. Check the awesome video out below.
