McFly's Harry Judd: 'Dougie's Rehab Stint Was Really Hard'

McFly drummer Harry Judd has spoken out about the agony he suffered watching bandmate Dougie Poynter check into rehab after his break-up with The Saturday’s Frankie Sandford.
Poynter, winner of ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here’, split from the popstar just prior to Christmas 2010, and ended up going to rehab the next month – something which his mate Harry Judd just couldn’t bear to see.
“It was really hard,” Judd confessed, “he's one of my best mates. He was 15 when he joined the band and I looked after him a lot. I was really upset for him, but he's turned his life around. He's a credit to himself.
“He's very mature for his age and - like Tom and Danny - he's a very special person and very unique. He's genuinely the most lovable guy. He deserves the happiness he's having right now. All I care about is Dougie. He has a beautiful new girlfriend; I've never seen him so happy.”
Poynter is fine now and spoke about the break-up with the Daily Mail: “Of course I was gutted about the break-up. It was totally unexpected and I really thought things were going well between us. It was bad timing just before Christmas too. I didn't fit in with The Saturdays and JLS crowd and party scene anyway.”
