Michael Eavis: 'Glastonbury 2013 Headliners Are Sorted'

Glastonbury main-man Michael Eavis has revealed that he has pretty much ‘sorted’ his headline acts for the legendary festival’s return in 2013 – though he wouldn’t spill any of the beans on who he’d booked.

The annual event will be taking a year off this year, to make way for the 2012 London Olympics which will be taking place in the summer. But, while he has no work to do scheduling acts for this year’s event, Eavis has already been working hard to make sure that when Glastonbury returns, it’ll return with a bang.

He then went on to talk about the idea of a 50th anniversary festival in 2020, to mark 50 years since its first ever event in 1970.

“I'm really determined somehow or other to make the 50 years - I don't see why I shouldn't make it. Strangely enough, I do feel incredibly fit. I don't see why I shouldn't make it. I've got the bands who want to play and the people who want to buy the tickets so why shouldn't we carry on?”

Those words probably come as sweet music to the ears of Glastonbury lovers, who were told last year by Eavis that the festival probably only had three or four years left.
