Dirty Pretty Things frontman Carl Barat has made his biggest hint yet of his plans to reform The Libertines in the future.
He says he likes to think of his ex-band as being "on ice" while he and Pete Doherty work on their other projects.
Pete Doherty is enjoying modest success with current band Babyshables, while Barat's new band Dirty Pretty Things are preparing to release their debut album.
Relations within The Libertines infamously broke down in 2004 after numerous drug related incidents soured the band members friendships.
Barat said: "I like to think I left it on ice. We're obviously busy with other things, but I like it when I see Pete as long as it's not really public. "He's not the kind of guy you can go out for a pint with and say 'I've got to go in an hour.' You've just got to buckle up your seatbelt and get ready for the ride. "By the very nature of my and Pete's relationship, we could be back on stage before you know it."
