New Gallows frontman Wade McNeil has opened up about his arrival at the band, and talked about how Gallows fans have taken to him replacing ex-vocalist Frank Carter.
Carter had been the frontman and lead singer of the band since their formation in 2005, but parted ways with the band last year after suffering from creative differences; Carter wanted to go on and produce a different style of music, and is now pursuing the idea with new project Pure Love.
After a month of uncertainty, former Alexisonfire guitarist and vocalist Wade McNeil was announced as the replacement frontman – and has spoken out about his new venture.
“There's a lot of people that are rooting for me in the UK and they're a lot of people who against me,” McNeil told Front Magazine. “I'm excited to shove it down their throats.” He then went on to talk about the band’s new material, explaining that their new E.P ‘Death is Birth’ shouldn’t be taken as too much of a preview of what’s to come.
“In the next year I want to put out a record that we'll still be proud of in 2030. I think that it's that strive to do something that's a nod to the past, looking at the music that inspires you, but still doing something new, pushing punk and hardcore.
“The EP is an eight-minute burst of violence and that's what we wanted to do. We didn't over think it, we just put it out. As we write this next record, we'll push to really challenge ourselves.”
