Usually, prison is somewhere you go to spend time thinking about the crimes you’ve committed; somewhere you see horrible things and have to live surrounded by some of the most hardened criminals around. But for New York-based rapper Ja Rule, prison seems to be the opposite – with the star even describing his time inside as ‘amazing’.
The bizarre and frankly quite silly claim comes after the star was incarcerated back in June last year, after he was caught in possession of a gun, as well as for dodging taxes. He is set for a release in January 2013 – but it seems like he’s having such a good time he won’t want to leave.
“Outside,” he told the NyDailyNews, “you don't meet guys like this every day. This place is amazing.” He went on to mention that he’d made two new friends – corrupt American politician Alan Hevesi and tycoon Dennis Kozlowski, who was involved in a $100million scandal.
“Koz[lowski] just got out on work release. Not to say I wish he was still here. But they're both great, smart guys. I was studying for my GED and Koz came in and talked to me and said, if you need any help, let me know. Hevey's [Hevesi] a Democrat like me, so that helps. He told me how it's like pulling teeth with the two parties trying to get bills passed.”
Despite his imprisonment, Ja Rule is set to drop his seventh studio album ‘Pain is Love 2’ later this month.
