McFly Totally Sober Following Dougie Poynter's Stint In Rehab

English pop-rockers McFly have reportedly given up alcohol for good – after their bandmate Dougie Poynter completed a stint in rehab last year.
The star’s split from ex-girlfriend Frankie Sandford last year fuelled an addiction to booze and drink, which eventually got so bad he was forced to go to rehab. But, while you’d imagine that the rest of the boys would still fancy a drink – especially on tour – they’ve all joined in and given up alcohol – showing their true bromance.
“None of the boys really drink now to help me out - we are all a bit more grown-up now, so the novelty has kind of worn off,” Poynter told The Mirror. “In the early days of McFly, we went wild! I'm not missing the booze. I had to give up because I always took it too far.
“Now I'm clear-headed, I like being hangover-free - I get a lot more achieved. Once you get through that barrier at events and nights out, you realise you aren't getting drunk and its fine.”
