Sharon Osbourne Sacks Black Sabbath Drummer Bill Ward?

Unconfirmed reports have emerged claiming that Sharon Osbourne, manager of Black Sabbath, has fired drummer Bill Ward after he released a statement last week claiming his contract for a new Sabbath album and tour was “unsignable”.

Stereoboard reported last Friday, 3rd February, that original Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward was pulling-out of recording sessions for Sabbath's new album, as well as the reunion tour, as the contract he had received from the band's management was “unsignable”. Bill also mentioned in his statement that he wanted “a contract that shows some respect to me and my family, a contract that will honor all that I've brought to Black Sabbath since its beginning."

The statement has since left fans wondering whether Bill Ward will appear with Sabbath on their forthcoming world tour or will he be replaced? It seems that question has been answered if reports of Bill Ward's sacking, such as the details posted by www.metaltalk.net, turn out to be true.

Black Sabbath responded to Bill Ward's statement, issuing their own statement earlier this week reassuring fans that they’ll be embarking on their comeback tour as well as recording a new album – regardless of whether drummer Bill Ward wants to join them or not.

“We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans. We have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open. We are still in the UK with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll...See you at Download!!!”

Further reports are suggesting that Bill Ward is to be replaced by Tommy Clufetos, the drummer in Ozzy Osbourne's band. More details on this as soon as we hear some official news.
