Scarlette Fever Reveals Details Of New EP 'The Great Expectations'

On March 18th, Scarlette Fever releases ‘The Great Expectations’ EP debuting a new, rawer sound, with fresh interpretations by Ash Howes (Texas) of live favourites ‘Hour of Sunshine,’ ‘Cheatin’ Man’ & ‘Good Day’.

“We’ve stripped them back and played around with some old school rock ‘n’ roll rawness,” says Scarlette. “It was a bunch of independent musicians recording it all live in one room – and just like my heroine Aretha, we did it in two days!”

Lead track ‘Hour Of Sunshine’ features on the EP in two versions: the first is remixed by Cenzo Townshend (Snow Patrol) and this is complemented by an addictive new live mix produced by Steve Lironi (Bon Jovi). The track was inspired by Scarlette’s love of 90s anthems like ‘One Night In Heaven,’ and ‘What’s Up’. “Elated was quite a sad track and so this is the polar opposite – a simple feelgood song,” says Scarlette. “One that captures the feelings of falling in lust. My favourite line? “I’ve fallen right through you. I’m deep underwater.”

The EP features new versions of ballad ‘Good Day,’ and Motown-influenced ‘Cheatin’ Man'. “They’re crowd pleasers,” says Scarlette. “And these new versions really pack a punch.”

Scarlette Fever has had a phenomenal 2011. Debut single ‘Crash & Burn’ sailed onto Radio 2’s B-list in January, reaching Number Two on the Billboard Breakout Club Chart and winning praise across the media. Since then, her profile has steadily risen, alongside the further radio playlists and national press acclaim. She’s toured with Girls Aloud, performed with Robbie Williams, as well as this Spring completing a 20-date support with 80s legends Mike & The Mechanics and an autumn leg with Roachford..

Following the EP, Scarlette will be releasing a deluxe, repackaged and re-recorded album, complete with brand new tracks. Check back to Stereoboard for more details as and when they're announced.
