Folk and pop singer Kyla La Grange has unveiled the brand new video for her single ‘Vampire Smile’, which will feature on the up and coming star’s currently untitled, forthcoming debut album, which is set to hit shelves in June this year.
'Vampire Smile' is the fourth single from Kyla, and will see a release through Chess Club Records on 12th March later this year. Written when she was just 19 years old, the track is charged with characteristically sweet and savage lyrics - it’s a dark and beguiling take on possession and obsession that will get under your skin and stay there.
Kyla, a Cambridge philosophy graduate, grew up in Watford and started to write songs at a young age. It was while she was at university that a friend introduced her to Elliott Smith and Cat Power and, hearing them for the first time, she started to take her ability seriously. The Guardian described her as “one of those precocious talents that everyone secretly fears. A gorgeous voice and a soaring chorus, the kind that makes your heart swell a little bit. Stirring stuff.”
Currently supporting Dog Is Dead on tour, Kyla La Grange will then head out on a headline tour of the UK in April and will play her biggest headline show to date at Village Underground in London on May 29th. Check the dates and details of the tour (as well as the music video) below.
