Frank Skinner Jokes At 'Hypocritical' Adele At BRIT Awards

Comedian Frank Skinner has accused Adele of being unpatriotic at this year’s BRIT Award ceremony – because she swore at the crowd with one finger instead of two!
The superstar soul singer had her acceptance speech cut short at the show, to give time for Blur to begin their closing set. Adele wasn’t too bothered by the move – but did think it warranted a flick of the middle finger at the ‘suits’ in the crowd.
Most people weren’t too surprised by the act, though it did stir some controversy, but Frank Skinner saw it as hypocritical – because she’d previously said she’d been flying the flag for Britain and the middle finger salute was ‘a very American gesture’.
“I think James Corden did her a favour,” he told the Daily Star. “With all that proud to be British stuff saying she was waving the flag for us I was not happy with it. I think she was a bit hypocritical. How can she say that she is proud to be British and then give a very American gesture by sticking one finger in the air? It should have been two fingers as that is how I fly the flag!”
While Skinner’s comments are most likely a joke, Lily Allen didn’t see anything funny behind the decision to cut Adele’s speech – claiming that the move was a ‘metaphor for the industry's attitude to women.’
