High Contrast Launches New Album Prior To Hospitality Cardiff Tomorrow

As most drum and bass ravers around the UK will probably know, Hospital Records’ hugely humongous Hospitality night is currently on tour, with the latest selection of 170bpm talent set to destroy Cardiff’s Student Union tomorrow night. The show is also set to be a big night for Cardiff’s own drum and bass legend High Contrast – who’ll be releasing his latest album ‘The Agony and the Ecstasy’ tomorrow in the Welsh capitals’ infamous Catapult Records store.

High Contrast, a.k.a Lincoln Barrett, has been working on his fourth LP for the past five years, but is now finally ready to drop the album in full after months and months of hype, single releases and music videos – one of which you can see below. So, where better place to drop your new record that in your beloved hometown, on the night of one of your record label’s biggest party nights, in a record store that you used to work in many moons ago?

If you’re in Cardiff on Saturday (March 3rd) and love drum and bass, this needs to be your plan of action – wake up, get ready, and get yourself to Catapult Records for 5pm. Barrett will be in-store from 5-6pm, playing an intimate set showcasing some of the new material featured on his brand new album. Then you’ll be able to grab a copy of the LP (maybe even signed by Barrett himself), and a ticket to Hospitality.

Then, you warm yourself up for Hospitality, where the likes of Netsky, Friction, Wilkinson, Fred V & Grafix and of course, another of Cardiff’s incredibly talented home-grown producers – Lung – will be performing all night long. Lung is a fresh face for Hospital, having signed for their Med School label not too long ago, but you’ll definitely be seeing the name around a lot more now – he’s got an LP in the works and has just recorded a mix for FabricLive as well as appearing on DnBArena TV alongside High Contrast and Stanza.

You can check out an interview we did featuring both High Contrast and Lung here.
