Superstar soul singer Adele has been smashing records, winning awards and staying on top album and singles charts like no other this year, and now she’s topped yet another poll – beating off rockers Muse to top the vote for who fans would like to see performing the new James Bond theme.
Even before the poll, the ‘Rolling in the Deep’ star has been speculated about and rumoured as the singer to record the track for ‘Skyfall’, the latest instalment in the mega-famous Spy series - despite nothing official coming from the mouths of producers or directors.
The Tottenham-born artist came out on top in the poll, with Muse right behind her. American rockers The Foo Fighters were next in line, whilst Irish superstars U2 and indie-pop group Florence and the Machine completed the top 5. The Arctic Monkeys, Lana Del Ray, Guns N Roses, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Rihanna took up the rest of the top 10.
Being chosen to perform the James Bond theme is a milestone in any singer’s career and previous singers of Bond themes include superstars like Shirley Bassey, Duran Duran, Tina Turner, Madonna and Paul McCartney. We’ll let you know if Adele does indeed end up recording the song.
