REM Guitarist Peter Buck Reportedly Working On Solo Album

Peter Buck, guitarist of American rockers REM, has reportedly been working on his first ever solo record – just a year on from the mega-famous band’s 2011 break-up.

The news was broken by Scott McCaughey – a long-term friend and frequent collaborator of Buck’s – who suggested that the star could try his hand at singing for the first time too.

Speaking to Kiro FM, McCaughey also revealed that he would be working with Buck on the album and that it would sound ‘pretty out’, before adding that the release date is currently unknown.

Vinyl junkies will be glad to hear that the album may only be released on vinyl – with absolutely no internet downloads or file-sharing.

Back in November, bassist Mike Mills assured fans that the band did not break on bad terms, saying: “If it ever looked like we ought to break up because of internal problems, or external, that was always an incentive to carry on and work it out.”
