'I Only Talk Shit In Interviews To Entertain Bandmate', Says The Black Keys Patrick Carney

The Black Keys' Patrick Carney has confessed that he only talks so much ‘shit’ in interviews because he wants to entertain his bandmate Dan Auerbach.
The pair are known to be rather vocal with their opinions when it comes to band interviews, with the pair recently causing a bit of a stir with their comments about Nickelback and Spotify’s Sean Parker. But, now Carney has insisted that he’s not an angry troll – and simply makes the comments to keep a smile on bandmate Auerbach’s face.
Speaking to Spinner about his often-made comments about other bands and figures, Carney said: “I didn't mean to single out that band. I tried to apologise. I don't want to seem like I don't stand by my comments from earlier. Whatever. It's like someone acting surprised that I don't like a band like that. It's like them being surprised that I don't watch The 700 Club every Sunday. What the fuck?”
He was then asked what Auerbach thought of the comment he made, to which he replied: “That's usually why I end up saying retarded shit sometimes, is just to get a rise out of [Auerbach].”
He went on to say that him and his Black Keys partner Dan Auerbach could be working on a new album soon, saying: “We booked some studio time for two weeks in Jul, so I know we're going to start working on the next album in a couple of months. We haven't really talked about it. We just want to get in the studio and start.”
