Deacon Blue Announce 25th Anniversary Autumn UK Tour & Tickets

Scottish pop-rock outfit Deacon Blue have confirmed details of a 25th anniversary tour for this October. Tickets for Deacon Blue are onsale Friday 13th April at 9am.
Deacon Blue are one of the most commercially successful British bands of the time, with 18 UK Top 40 hit singles and 5 Top 5 UK albums, 2 of which were Number One albums. Deacon Blue first stormed the charts back in 1988 with the single, ‘Dignity.’ Other hits include ‘Real Gone Kid’ and ‘Chocolate Girl’.
Deacon Blue have recently been on hiatus while Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh, the married lead singers of the band, have concentrated on their side project McIntosh Ross, releasing the album ‘The Great Lakes’ in September 2009. Lorraine has also been treading the boards, appearing in 'Beautiful Burnout' a stage production from The National Theatre of Scotland, part of this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Ricky meanwhile, has been busy writing songs not only for Deacon Blue but for the likes of James Blunt, Ronan Keating, Will Young, Nanci Griffith, EG White and Jamie Cullum amongst others.
Though original member Graeme Kelling died from pancreatic cancer in 2004, Deacon Blue has continued in his absence and 2006 saw the group return to the studio to record three new tracks for a singles album - including the track 'Bigger than Dynamite'. In March, Ricky began posting Facebook updates from the studio, confirming that the band are working on a new album, due for release in the Autumn.
