Editors have announced an intimate headline show at the HMV Institute in Birmingham, the city where they spent their formative years. Tickets for Editors are onsale this Friday at 9am.
The Birmingham show, which takes place on 27th June, will be Editors only UK show of 2012 and will provide the band with a perfect opportunity to preview new material from their forthcoming new studio album.
Editors, who recently parted ways with guitarist Chris Urbanowicz, will release their fourth studio album, which is currently still untitled, later this year. The album will be the follow-up to 2009's 'In This Light and on This Evening'.
Speaking about the album late last year, vocalist Tom Smith told Q Radio: "Its still going to be fairly electronic, I think, compared to our earlier records. So far it feels quite muscular with a bit of swagger and a bit more of a groove. The last record was liberating in lots of different ways and I think we just need to, kind of, build on that..... with a nod to our past as well. Its our fourth record and we don't want to feel like we're doing the same thing again."
