Azealia Banks Forced To Cancel All Summer Festival Dates

American singer and rapper Azealia Banks has been forced to pull-out of all her scheduled summer festival appearances – including a headline slot at Rough Beats – after her management decided that she needed more time in the studio to finish her debut album 'Broke With Expensive Taste'.
Banks was lined-up to perform at Lovebox, Park Life, RockNess, Rough Beats, Bestival and Wakestock, but will now be spending the summer months locked in the studio thanks to a decision to cancel the dates from her management – despite a rather successful appearance at Coachella Festival earlier in the month.
“A decision has been made by her new management that she needs to get back into the studio and invest more time on her forthcoming debut album 'Broke With Expensive Taste',” a statement from her team read.
Mike McSherry, chief of Rough Beats Festival, said of the news: “It would have been her first major headlining show in the UK and we were pretty chuffed about getting in there early and backing her to be a great act even before her debut releases. I think her management have made the right decision. As great as her Coachella performance was, the UK audience is going to need more than half hour of material from a headliner.”
