They brawled in a press conference in Munich, now they will be fighting each other in the ring. In what is going to be billed as the biggest grudge fight of the year David Haye will be taking on Dereck Chisora.
The fight will take place at Upton Park, home of West Ham United FC on Saturday 14th of July 2012, after the Luxembourg Boxing Federation agreed to license the bout. The fight will be the first held in Britain licensed by a foreign federation.
Dereck Chisora’s licence was removed for his conduct during the build up and after his defeat to Vitali Klitschko in Munich in earlier this year in February. Chisora, who lost the fight on points, slapped Vitali at the weigh-in and spat water at his brother Wladimir just prior to the fight. The Londoner then became embroiled in a brawl with Haye at the post-fight press conference.
David Haye relinquished his licence when he announced his official retirement last October. The announcement came three months after losing his WBA title to Wladimir Klitschko in Hamburg.
