Jay-Z To Ask Barack Obama To Perform At Made In America Festival

While Jay-Z may be top of the wanted list for many a festival promoter, you'll be interested to find out who tops Jay-Z's most-wanted list for his own 'Made in America' festival later this year – US President Barack Obama.
The rapper's new two-day festival will take place in September at Philadelphia's Fairmount Park, and will host a range of 'rock, hip-hop, R&B, Latin and dance' acts as well as seeing performances from Jay-Z himself and maybe even his wife Beyonce. But, there's one name in particular that Jay-Z has in mind for the event – and it's all-singing, all-dancing American president Barack Obama.
“I'm gonna give him a call and I'm gonna try to get him to perform – do a little rendition of Al Green – but I doubt it,” Jay-Z told Rolling Stone. “I think that opens up the political season. He'll be so far into helping the world that he probably won't have time, but I'm absolutely going to ask him.”
He went on to talk about the festival itself, and why he'd chosen to host it in Philadelphia.
“Philadelphia's one of the most iconic cities: Declaration and the whole bit. I feel like I've done enough in New York where I feel I could branch out a bit, and she won't get mad at me so much. And it's a short trek from New York, so...”
