Leicester-based rockers have reached the highest point in their 15-year career this year, after their latest album 'Velociraptor!' hitting #1 in the UK Albums Chart and the band being drafted in to headline the epic Reading and Leeds Festivals later this year. But, there's just one milestone they have in their sights now – to perform a gig in space.
The band are becoming a bigger and bigger force in the rock scene and are almost out of this world – hence why they're looking to expand their audience to an intergalactic level! The band would apparently love to perform a gig in the International Space Station and have it streamed to homes, computers and cinemas across the world – something which would be a first for a band of musicians.
Speaking to The Daily Star, Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno revealed the band's new ambitions: “What would be great would be to do some live shows from space. [We'd] beam them back from the International Space Station with a satellite link-up and go straight into homes or cinemas.”
He then added that he enjoys gig's in cinemas and referenced the band's recent gigs in London's O2 Arena, saying: “It’s difficult to predict where you’ll have a good show but somehow the magic happened at the O2 so we were really lucky. The cinema is a great place to see a gig.”
