Thin Lizzy Start Recording New Material

Irish rock legends Thin Lizzy have reportedly entered the studio once again today, beginning recording sessions which could potentially conclude with the creation of their first album for almost 30 years.

Thin Lizzy have been performing live and putting on tours on and off for the past ten or so years now that they’ve settled upon a consistent line-up for the band, but have lacked any new material since 1983’s ‘Thunder and Lightning’. However, if fans keep their fingers crossed, Thin Lizzy may have a new record to put out in the near future - should their sessions go down well.

Guitarist Damon Johnson tweeted yesterday: “Thin Lizzy enters the recording studio tomorrow with electric guitars and amps a-blazin’, and Brian Downey’s full drum-kit.”

This news follows frontman Ricky Worwick’s recent comments: “We’re all working really great together as a band. Let’s get in there and see what ideas we have and take it from there. The bar has been set very high and we will only release what we 100% believe in, whether that’s 2 tracks or 12 tracks - I mean I’d love it to be a full album, but we’ll just need to take it as it goes.”

Thin Lizzy are touring the UK later this year - where they may have some new material to play out. Check the dates and details below to find out more and find yourself tickets.
