Daryl Hall Announces London Shepherds Bush Empire Concert & Tickets

On Thursday 12th July London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire will host an evening with Daryl Hall, who will be performing songs from his new solo album 'Laughing Down Crying', and selections from the Daryl Hall & John Oates songbook. Highly acclaimed newcomer Natalie Duncan will open the show.

ImageFrom his latest solo offering ‘Laughing Down Crying’ to the hit singles of 'Daryl Hall & John Oates', Daryl Hall’s legacy and inspiration is unmistakable. New gems like 'Eyes For You' and 'Talking To You' off the critically-acclaimed ‘Laughing Down Crying’ album to timeless classics like ‘Rich Girl’, ‘Dreamtime‘ and ‘Kiss on My List,’ which have become cult classics the world over.

While Daryl Hall and John Oates have been as hot a concert attraction as ever – recently headlining a sold-out three-night stand at the fabled Hollywood Bowl – Hall has admitted to getting a creative boost from his award-winning monthly web-series Live From Daryl’s House, on which he’s collaborated with everyone from legends like Smokey Robinson, Toots Hibbert, The Doors’ Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek, Nick Lowe, Booker T and Todd Rundgren to some of today’s biggest names, including Mayer Hawthorne, Travie McCoy, KT Tunstall, Patrick Stump, Cee Lo Green, Train, and Chromeo.

“I’ve been amassing song ideas for the past eight/nine years,” says Daryl, whose critically-acclaimed first solo album, 1980’s Robert Fripp-produced ‘Sacred Songs’, was so experimental and “non-commercial” a shell-shocked RCA Records refused to release it for three years. He followed with the Dave Stewart-produced 1985 album, ‘Three Hearts in the Happy Ending Machine’, then 1993’s ‘Soul Alone’.

“Why now?” he asks rhetorically about his first solo album in close to a decade. “Why not now? At this point, I feel like my present and future, in a creative sense, is me.”

The last decade has seen Daryl as a pop culture icon, notably appearing in such hip TV shows and movies as Flight of the Conchords, Will & Grace and You Again, featuring on UK dub-step act Nero’s number one album ‘Welcome Reality’ as well as being covered by electro-pop duo The Bird and The Bee, and being joined for his Live From Daryl’s House web-series by rock stalwarts and forward-thinking blog generation stars alike.

Opening special guest for Hall is upcoming gifted singer/songwriter Natalie Duncan, who is already receiving wide press acclaim for her soulful debut ‘Devil In Me.’
