Noisettes Reveal 'Contact' Release Date + Tracklist

London-based indie-rock outfit Noisettes have revealed some of the details behind their forthcoming new album ‘Contact’, out August 27th.

With a career that has stretched over seven incredible years, their fizzy, witty mixture of all kinds of pop has brought them well known chart smashes like ‘Never Forget You’ and ‘Don’t Upset the Rhythm’, while their unique command of the stage has made them festival icons from Glastonbury to V Festival. Two years on, and Noisettes are making their long-awaited return with an album that feels nothing short of an epic ‘Winner’.

With the world at their feet and finally ‘Free’ to dance to the beat of their own song, ready to embark on a new musical era, the dynamic duo set-off to America,‘Travelling Light’ (written in Simon & Garfunkel’s studio with August Rigo, whose written for everyone from Justin Bieber to Musiq Soulchild), leaving their friends, family and any distractions behind to start work on the album.

Dan said: ''You cut the life that you live off temporarily when you're in limbo somewhere else. You can kind of reflect more on it. We went to the States to write with some of the best writers in the business and in exchange we got time at Brighton Electric Studios with just our drummer, Toby Couling to go wherever we pleased musically. Gradually, I think the quality of what we were doing on our own started to overtake that of the stuff being written with the writers mainly because it was more 'us' and because we were taking more liberties with the music."

The album is an eclectic mix of everything that the world loves about this duo; intoxicating, emotionally evoking, with a hint of uplifting, funky beats that will have you shining like the morning sun. There’s the rootsy pop-soul stomper ‘That Girl’, the mysterious ‘Final Call’ (complete with a guest appearance by Deborah Evans-Strickland, the icy vocalist from the Flying Lizards’ hit ‘Money’), and the simple but potent ‘Rag Top Car’, which they recorded, as a spontaneous singalong with a strummed mandolin accompaniment. A song that in essence, sets the tone for the album. Written for each other, the song talks about their journey...two souls together.
