Liam Gallagher: 'Next Beady Eye Album Will Be Absolutely Bang On'

Manchester rock Liam Gallagher has opened up about the band’s next album, and how he and his Beady Eye bandmates have been spending a lot more time on the material they’re working on this time round.

The band went into write and record their first album ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ straight off the back of the split of Oasis, something which Gallagher thinks may have affected the quality of material they got down. But this time, Liam reckons that the tunes will be ‘absolutely bang on’ - and hopes to get it out next year (alongside a Stone Roses release).

Asked by BBC 6 Music how he and his band were progressing with their second record, Liam replied: “It's sounding good. We've got a bit more writing to do, but we'll go in and record some time this year. If Stone Roses and Beady Eye both release an album next year, everything will be alright.”

He continued: “The first album came straight off the back of Oasis splitting up and we just wanted to be in a band again, so we just went straight in and did it. This time, we're taking our time a bit. We're not worried with having to be out there, we'll be there when the songs are absolutely bang on.

“We had the rug pulled from us by 'a certain someone', we didn't want the band to split up. We wanted to crack on and even when Oasis used to finish tours and talk about having years off, we'd all be like 'We're not getting any younger and if you like something, keep doing it all the time, have six months and then let's make another record'. So that's what we did with this one. The songs are a lot better on this album, they have to be.”

The news comes after Beady Eye supported The Stone Roses at one of their three epic Manchester comeback shows last Saturday. If you want tickets to any of the Stone Roses remaining shows, check the link below.
