Stevie Nicks Confirms Fleetwood Mac Are Planning 2013 Reunion Tour

Reports are surfacing today, claiming that Fleetwood Mac are planning a 2013 reunion world tour.

According to Fleetwood Mac vocalist Stevie Nicks, the band are currently planning a reunion for next year following the success of their 2009 tour. Speaking to CBS News, Stevie Nicks, who is currently in the middle of a North American solo tour said: “It's likely to happen next year… It’s the plan. Because that’s what we do. I do my thing. And Lindsey (Buckingham)‘s out doing his thing now.”

This news is huge for Fleetwood Mac after it has long been thought that the band would never tour again. Stevie's revelation follows drummer Mick Fleetwood's comments earlier this year. The drummer revealed that Fleetwood Mac will never tour again, blaming Stevie Nicks' commitment to her latest solo album for the disrupted reunion 2012 tour plans.

Speaking to Playboy Mick Fleetwood revealed: "I don't believe Fleetwood Mac will ever tour again, but I really hope we do," he said. "We have rehearsed it and prepared for it since 2010. We were supposed to tour in 2011, but we delayed it for a year to allow Stevie Nicks to support her solo record and for Lindsey Buckingham to do the same with his."

He continued: "I've always been supportive of my bandmates doing solo albums, so long as we kept our band together... I played drums on most of Stevie's album, the one she is still out there supporting and the one that is the reason that, for now, she refuses to do a Fleetwood Mac tour. It comes down to her."

When asked about Stevie's touring situation, Mick added: "I understand what she likes about her situation. Touring in support of her album, she is able to be her, without any degree of compromise. She doesn't have to worry about the other three of us asking her to do anything. She has become obsessed with her album in a very nice but inconvenient way."

Stevie Nicks, singer with Fleetwood Mac, released her seventh solo studio album 'In Your Dreams' in May last year.

So, following Mick's comments, it now seems, come 2013, Stevie will be ready to tour again with Fleetwood Mac. Check back to Stereoboard for further updates on a Fleetwood Mac reunion tour.
