Burn The Fleet Announce Release Of 'The Modern Shape'

Southampton rockers Burn the Fleet have announced that they’ll be releasing their debut album ‘The Modern Shape’ on September 10th.
Following on from the release of 2010’s self-titled debut EP, and their highly popular singles ‘Black Holes’ and ‘River Song’ (all through Walnut Tree Records (Tiger Please, Drawings)), Burn the Fleet look set to become the favourites of an even greater audience with their first full LP offering.
Produced by Neil Kennedy (Last Witness, Our Time Down Here) and Mastered by Alan Douches (Brand New, Mastodon) ‘The Modern Shape’ is an expansive and intense 9-track epic, fusing beautifully soaring vocal melodies with huge destructive riffage, creating a debut which is equal parts punishing, intricate and heart-breaking.
None of the energy of their absorbing live shows is lost and the listener is pulled into their world as soon as the first notes of ‘In the Hole Lives the Wicked King’ are struck - for 36 minutes, Burn the Fleet don’t release you from their grip, with the record leaving a lasting impression long after closing track ‘Irish Eyes’ finishes. With the release of ‘The Modern Shape’ and tours in the pipeline (including a UK tour with Hawthorne Heights in October), Burn the Fleet look set to put 2012 under their spell.
