The Wallflowers Are Glad To Be Back

Fans of absentee Californian rockers The Wallflowers can finally rejoice as the band are set to release their brand new studio album on October 2nd 2012.

ImageRecorded in Black Keys main man Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville and titled 'Glad All Over', the record follows a lengthy period of inactivity for the group as it's almost seven long years since the release of 2005's 'Rebel Sweetheart'. Produced by Jay Joyce (Emmylou Harris and Cage The Elephant) and mixed by Rich Costey (Bruce Springsteen and The Shins) the new albums finds the purveyors of melodic Americana taking their trademark sound and adding a few twists and turns for good measure.

Brooding band leader Jakob, son of Bob and uncanny doppelgänger, Dylan claims that “It's been a while since we've felt this energized and creative. We haven't changed our stripes so much as we're continuing to redefine the animal”.

'Glad All over' will be the band's sixth album since forming back in 1989, and whilst they've undergone various line-up changes they're still bolstered by original members Dylan, bassist Greg Richling and keyboard player Rami Jaffe, along with long term guitarist Stuart Mathis and drummer Jack Irons. From 24the July new single 'Reboot The mission', promisingly described as 'a Clash-inspired track with an unmistakeable shuffle backbeat' and featuring Mick Jones on vocals and guitar, will be available for free download at www.thewallflowers.com.
