Festival Number 6 Makes Bumper New Line-Up Announcement

Unique boutique festival Festival Number 6 has announced a raft of new acts to compliment such already revealed names as New Order, Primal Scream, Spiritualized and British Sea Power.

On the music front highlights of the newly announced batch include electronic genius Gold Panda, lo-fi folksters Stealing Sheep and Manchester based electronic rock band The Whip. They are joined by further new names King Krule, Race Horses, Jape, The Early Years, Splashh, Mary Epworth, Marika Nicholls, Roy Wilkinson and The Kane Players. Indie fans will also be delighted to learn that Libertines man Carl Barat will be appearing to perform not only an acoustic set of classics but also providing an introduction, and holding a Q&A, at an exclusive festival screening of 'There Are No Innocent Bystanders', the new documentary about the band.

The line-up has also expanded away from music. Radio 6 Music legend Stuart Maconie will be hosting the Piazza Stage and thus introducing readings by the likes of John Niven, Caitlin Moran and Jan Morris. The festival’s comedy bill will be headed by Never Mind the Buzzcocks legend Phil Jupitus and will also see performances by Marcus Brigstocke and Andrew Maxwell.

With a diverse line-up of music, ranging from folk to dance and back again via all sorts of sounds, Festival Number 6 is set to prove itself one of the most exciting festivals on the British summer calendar when it takes place in the picturesque village of Portmeirion from 14th-16th September. Attendees will be able to immerse themselves in art and culture whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings at an event that is set to sidestep the frequent pitfalls of the regular large festival experience. A wide variety of accommodation is still available and the festival will of course come complete with the very finest in food and drink.

More acts are set to be announced soon.

Festival Number 6 takes place in Portmeirion, Wales from 14th-16th September 2012. Visit www.festivalnumber6.com for more information.
