Canadian superstar Drake has claimed that he is the first person in the history of music to successfully sing and rap.
While Drake, real name Aubrey Graham, is aware that he’s not the first person to do so, he believes he is the first performer to really pull off singing melodies and rapping verses successfully.
Speaking to the Jewish Chronicle, Drake declared: “There were people who incorporated melody before me, but I would deem myself the first person to successfully rap and sing. I'm one of the few artists who gets to be himself every day. It doesn't take me six hours to get ready and I don't have to wake up in the morning and remember to act like this or talk like this. I just have to be me. That's one of the favourite parts of my life - I've done this purely by being myself.”
He went on to talk about his own personal life, and revealed: “I'm 25 and single. I'm not supposed to care about deeper things right now, I'm supposed to be wild. But there are nights when you sit back and wonder, 'Damn, is this right?’”
What do you think of the claims? Do you agree, or is Drake performing a solo on his own trumpet? Let us know in the comments section below.
