Incubus To Enter Another Hiatus After Current Tour

Californian rockers Incubus have announced to their fans that they’ll be entering hiatus at the end of their current tour.
The huge-selling band, who’ve sold millions of records and earned platinum status on three of their seven studio albums, will take another, indefinite break at the end of the summer tour, similar to the five year gap which came between their previous album ‘If Not Now, When’ and 2006’s ‘Light Grenades’. Frontman Brandon Boyd will continue to make music, though, and may even record his second solo album while the band take a timeout.
“We have no plans, to tell you the truth, at the moment, I have been tinkering around, potentially with a second solo record,” Boyd told Billboard. “That's probably the most likely scenario. But as far as Incubus right now, we'll probably take another break. Hopefully it won't be as long as before, but what we'd like to do is arrive with the best of intentions and try to create music from a sense of urgency as well as purity and not necessarily based on a schedule.”
He added: “I know that can be frustrating for our listeners and stuff, but I think we'll make better music as a result.”
He went on to talk about the band’s future now that they’re untied to longtime record label Epic Records, and said: “We are trying to get our bearings to what we should do next, just as a band but also a band that is off in new territory again. I'm personally very excited about being in complete control, being a total control freak. That doesn't mean we wouldn't sign with another record label at some point, but it would have to be very, very specific, not get into just a good old fashioned record deal again, if they even exist.”
While UK-based fans may have already missed their opportunity to catch Incubus live before they take a break, fans in the US will be able to catch them performing alongside Linkin Park until September. If you need tickets to any of the shows, follow the link below.
