Former Queens of the Stone Age star Nick Oliveri has been spared jail following his arrest in July last year, which saw him get into a stand-off with a S.W.A.T police team.
The bass-player had a rather frantic run-in with the law last summer, after taking his ex-girlfriend hostage and refusing to let her go, despite a specialist police force surrounding his house. But, even though he faced charges of domestic violence, firearms violations, and drug offences, Oliveri won’t be going down for a potential 15 years - and will instead face 200 hours of community service, three years of felony probation, and 52 weeks of anger management.
His lawyer Freddy Sayegh revealed: “Mr. Oliveri agreed to plead to one count of possession of cocaine and a dismissal of the remaining six felony counts.” The six dismissed charges included two counts of possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, one count of possession of a controlled substance, and one misdemeanor count of resisting, obstructing or delaying a police officer.
So, in case you’re ever thinking of running round with coke, meth, guns, and your girlfriend whilst taking on a police SWAT team, remember - you could end up in anger management.
