Blonds have recorded a quite remarkable cover of 'Talk Show Host' by Radiohead. The band have been riding a wave of critical acclaim since releasing their debut full length 'The Bad Ones', gaining praise for their grasp of melodrama and sanguine lyrics. You can hear the cover below.
You could be forgiven for referring to Blonds as a buzz band, but let me assure you that they are not. Blonds are beyond that. A duo who have grown from a pair of wistful lovers making bedroom recordings in South Florida in order to craft their ‘Dark Roots’ EP to working with Nicholas Vernhes on their much praised debut album ‘The Bad Ones’, Blonds are at the beginning of something very special indeed.
It takes bravery to cover a Radiohead track, but bravery is not something that Jordy Asher and Cari Rae lack. Taking on their little known B-Side ‘Talk Show Host’, Blonds have put their own distinctive style on the song while remaining relatively faithful to the original. After all, Radiohead aren’t bad, are they?
