The Killers are to perform a special exclusive show for BBC Radio 1 at London's HMV Forum on Monday 10th September. The gig will be broadcast live on Radio 1!
As part of the special show, the first in a series of concerts arranged for Radio 1′s Massive Month of Live Music, free tickets will be offered to Radio 1 listeners. Ticket registration will open on Tuesday 28th August during Zane Lowe's Radio 1 evening show and close on Saturday 1st September during Huw Stephen's show. Expect the announcement of further details in the next couple of weeks by Zane. He will let listeners know how they can register online for free tickets.
Neil Wyatt, Editor of Radio 1 and 1Xtra Live Events, said: “This September is all about incredible live music on Radio 1. The Killers are one of the biggest bands around and I can’t think of a better way to start our month of live music across Radio 1 than having them play a gig exclusively for our listeners.”
The Killers will perform a selection of new material from their forthcoming album along with hits from their back catalogue. The performance will be broadcast live on Radio 1 in a special edition of Zane Lowe’s show on Mon 10th September, including an interview with the band. The gig will be streamed on www.bbc.co.uk/radio1.
The Killers recently unveiled the tracklisting for their forthcoming fourth studio album ‘Battle Born’, out September 18th. The new record features 12 brand new tracks - including their latest single ‘Runaways’ - while a deluxe version of the album will hold 15, one of which is a remix of it’s opening track ‘Flesh and Bone’.
