Two women have been found murdered in their homes in Russia - and reports suggest that police have said that their killer smeared the words ‘Free Pussy Riot!’ on the walls in their blood.
The women - one 36, the other 78 - were found over the weekend in the Russian city of Kazan, with the federal investigative committee telling The Guardian: “The words 'Free Pussy Riot', presumably written in blood, were found at the scene of the crime, on the walls of the flat.”
While some may believe it’s an extreme reaction to the three female members of the band’s recent imprisonment, many believe it is an attempt to discredit and tranish the band’s image and reputation. The husband of one jailed member has said: “This is an attempt to strike at all supporters of the group.”
Nikolai Polozov, one of the band’s lawyers, has also commented, saying: “What happened in Kazan is horrible. Pussy Riot was always for nonviolent protest. This incident is either a horrendous provocation or [the work of] a psychopath.”
